Summary: Loving Azura was the gift that kept on giving, and Ryoma could never feel enough of reciprocating all of her love with everything he had. This time, Shiro wanted to convey his love alongside Shigure, but, of course, Ryoma also had to step in…

There was a custom in Hoshido that made the current King’s birthday a national holiday.
There would be festivals going on all over the country and a ceremony with the royal couple at the castle’s courtyard. It was a day for celebrating not only the birth of the current ruler, but also to show his earnest heart to the people — the Crown would give food to the poor and open the coffers for greater support for state-led charities, not to mention a special open-castle hour of the day when any and all were able to marvel at the peak of hoshidan architecture.
The birthday of the King was referred to as the Sky Festival, whereas the birthday of the Queen was referred to as the Earth Festival, for the world was made by uniting the Sky and Earth. As Ryoma was a descendant of the Dawn Dragon and the closest one to the gods, he was depicted in paintings and writings as ‘the one on whom the Sun shone the brightest’, while Azura, as his Queen, was his connection with the people, being depicted as a grounded, peacekeeping ruler.
Even though it had been almost a decade since they had risen to their stations, Azura couldn’t get used to being regarded as someone so important she was the ‘connection between humans and gods’ as the hoshidan people believed. She was simply a mother doing all she could to embrace her children in her rule — though she had more than just her two sons, as she was the mother of the entire country.
Far from being forgotten as she had always feared, every year she was reminded time and again about the importance of her role — and the weight it carried into people’s hearts. The weight it carried in her husband’s and children’s hearts, especially.
Her birthday and all that it entailed came and went peacefully — as much as the chaos of organizing state-large celebrations could be called as ‘peaceful’, anyway — and, not too long after, Ryoma’s birthday also arrived.

Thansk for the support again, @mourningstorms! I hope you like it!
This is a paired ending between Ryoma and Kagero from Fates! I took inspiration from their paired endings and a few other endings from 3h!
Ryoma - Peerless Samurai & Kagero - Traditional Ninja
Ryoma was crowned King of Hoshido, and his rule led to an era of unprecedented prosperity. While he focused on the rebuilding effort, Kagero remained a ninja. Not many people saw them together inside the castle, but they met often due to Kagero’s excellence in hiding from people’s eyes. Although they were both taciturn, it was widely known that they cherished their time together. Not many knew of this, but later records show that Ryoma always consulted with his wife and retainer for a long time before making a big decision, which perhaps was the reason why he only left his office until the moon was high in the sky.
Thank you for the support, @mourningstorms! This was such a breath of fresh air from what I usually write, so thanks for the opportunity and I hope you like the pain!
Summary: Kagero had been trained to serve her liege, Ryoma, in all and any way she could. She did not learn, however, how to separate the feelings of a retainer from those of a woman…
__________________________
The first time they did it, they were seventeen.
Ryoma hasn’t always been the centered, cool-headed leader he became after he properly assumed his role as High Prince in the war with Nohr. He wasn’t always a man that relied on meditation to clear his mind, nor was he always a man who imposed walls between himself and his subordinates.
Once, he was also a seventeen year-old, who was susceptible to the charms of his kunoichi and retainer, Kagero.
The first time they did, they were seventeen.
They had met by chance at the moonlit halls of Shirasagi Castle, as Ryoma returned from his studies and Kagero, from her training. The way the silver drops of moonlight fell atop her glistering body, and the way her perfect black hair swayed slightly with the breeze… It bewitched the young prince.
His body felt hot at the sight of her; the way she looked up at him under her perfect eyelids made him feel like he was the predator and the prey of her womanly charms. The sudden kiss his lips stole was sweeter than any candy he had ever eaten before or thereafter.
From there to the nearest room took no time at all — and the stupor that invaded his mind filled the silent walls, heating the space that from then on, would be only theirs.
It was a night that would bring shame and joy in equal measures to the prince in the future, given his inexperience and Kagero’s excellence. He had never felt anything quite like it before — sweet and addicting like a drug, yet forbidden and secret like an escapade.

Summary: Thirst and Arctic were inseparable since childhood. So, naturally, they would be together once they reached the next chapter of their lives – even if that meant working under Rhodes Island. They would be togehter. They would.
Watch out for the sin, ye who enters!
__________________________
Being with Arctic was something as natural as breathing to Thirst.
They had been together basically ever since they could remember. From being each other’s playmates to training together to working as a team… Truly, they had always been joined at the hip.
Mostly due to Thirst’s unfathomable loyalty, sure, but it still stood. One word from Arctic when they were children and Thirst decided to take up arms — or rather, shields — to become the best Defender he could ever be, just so harm would never come into Arctic’s way.
To Thirst, it was all he could ever want.
He had never been one to express his feelings much, so being together with the ever-so-bright, mister-social-butterfly Arctic kind of balanced out that side of him. Arctic could talk for the both of them, be either only between themselves or amongst other people.
He was chatty, he was bright, he was sociable… He was Thirst’s everything.
That’s why, when they received the dire news of Arctic’s parents’ passing, Thirst was the one who felt it the most, after Arctic.
Since that meant Arctic turned inward ever since that day.
He still smiled, but there was a tinge of sadness in it.
He still talked, but there was a slurring at the end of his words, as if it took too much of him to even utter them.
He was still bright, but there was always a shadow under his brow that never quite left, no matter how much time passed.
Thirst wasn’t good with words.

Summary: After the announcement of Azura’s pregnancy, all eyes were on the young Queen. Especially her husband’s Ryoma. However, her deteriorating health was an issue that made way for terrible, terrible feelings to take root into the King’s heart…
Commission info HERE and HERE!
__________________________
The weeks after the discovery of Azura’s pregnancy were the most tiresome of them all, in the young Queen’s eyes.
Since they caught her pregnancy early on, they were able to prepare for any and all symptoms she might’ve displayed throughout her term — and in good measure, too, since Azura apparently displayed them all.
At the very start, she was tiring more often, even after doing menial tasks, so Ryoma had most of her duties as Queen suspended or otherwise transferred to another official. Then, she suffered from terrible, terrible morning sickness.
It was to a point that she didn’t want to eat at night if that meant throwing it all up when awoke the next morning. Well, not that eating during the day saved her from throwing it all up, anyway. Food barely, if ever, stayed in her stomach for long, and the cooks in the castle worked tirelessly to find something that would stick to her bones.
One would think a pregnant mother would gain weight to support the little child growing in her body, but Azura seemed to grow thinner as the days turned to weeks — and with her lost weight, she couldn’t find the strength to do some of the most basic things the doctors recommended; namely taking light walks.
